CLIMATE GOVERNANCE INITIATIVE GREECE
ABOUT
As one of over 30 chapters of The Climate Governance Initiative, with support from the World Economic Forum and the Hughes Hall Center for Climate Engagement of the University of Cambridge, CGI Greece provides Greek companies with access to knowledge exchange and resources from our entire global network, with the goal of empowering chairs, non-executive and independent directors to take climate action by enhancing their knowledge and skills in climate governance.
CGI Greece was launched in 2022 with support from ELLINIKI ETAIRIA - Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage.
MISSION
CGI's mission is to mobilize boards around the world to accelerate the net zero transition, guided by the World Economic Forum's Principles for Effective Climate Governance. CGI Greece is a peer-to-peer learning and collaboration platform. It provides Greek companies with access to knowledge exchange and resources from our entire global network and serves as a business platform to mobilize directors for the green transition.
We foster collaboration with companies of all sizes, large and small, to support the development of sustainable supply chains and empower the Greek business ecosystem. With continuously updated know-how and member engagement, CGI Greece helps your organization become a leader in transformative climate action.

We operate 6 working groups as follows: Sustainable Finance, Green Industrial Transition, Industry and Renewables, Green Shipping, Sustainable Tourism, and Climate and Innovation
WHAT WE DO
- Build a community of board members nationally and facilitate them to interact internationally.
- Provide board awareness resources, toolkits, and more to equip companies to lead crucial boardroom conversations.
- Support Greek companies to shape business strategies that address both the risks and opportunities of climate change.
- Help our members have a voice to put forward critical success factors and recommendations for facilitating the green transition.
HOW WE DO IT
- Provide access to a global network of experienced board members.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing through targeted white papers and events on the latest trends, best practices, and innovation.
- Run sectoral and functional working groups to articulate a collective voice on the enabling conditions for business climate action.
